At Newquay there is a range of activities you can do other than tennis. Things such as the zoo: this is right next to the tennis club. The zoo has a big maze inside and lots of animals of course. There is also a pitch and putt golf course a one minute walk away from the tennis club. It is 18 holes of crazy fun! About a five minute walk away from the tennis club there is a boating lake where you can go paddle boating. Just behind the paddle boating is a horse stable where you can go riding along the beach. There is also a swimming pool with a couple of slides very near to the tennis club. 10 minutes away at a Holiday Park called Hendron, there is another bigger swimming pool with slides (“Oasis”). In the tennis club there is a park for younger children and also a separate one for older children. About 15 minutes away there is an adventure park called Holywell, which has loads of go-karting and battle ship shooting if you fancy getting wet! There are lots of beaches nearby, where you can surf, body board or just relax. In Newquay there are plenty of really nice restaurants and there are also lots of food shops.

At the tennis club there are 8 outdoor courts and 2 inside a dome. There are two mini red courts where you can just play for fun and anyone can use them. There are red, orange, green and hard ball tournaments for all ages. The hard ball ages are U12, U14, U16, U18 and adults. There are doubles and mixed doubles for U14, U18 and adults.
There is a quiet room upstairs in the tennis club where you can work or relax. There is also a balcony up there where you can view the courts easily. There is also a café downstairs which sells food and drink (lots of coffee for adults!). There is also a television which shows the tournament going on then which is usually the French Open.

Our Stay

Saturday- On Saturday evening we left Sevenoaks and headed down to Newquay. As soon as we arrived we went straight to bed as it was very late.

Sunday- When we woke up on Sunday morning we went to the tennis club just to have a look around and find out where it is. We played pitch and putt, which was so much fun. We then mucked around on the mini red courts and watched some matches. We then finally went home.

Monday- On Monday we had our first matches. We played on the mini red courts and went in the park.

Tuesday- We had more matches on Tuesday and again we played on the mini red courts.

Wednesday- Once again we had matches and in the evening it was the tournament BBQ, it was really fun and we both had burgers.

Thursday- On Thursday morning we went to Oasis Water Park with John and his family and the Brookes; afterwards we played some more matches. In the evening we went to Crantock beach.

Friday- On Friday it was all the finals, they were so good to watch. A big group of us then went surfing and had some dinner on the beach, which was fantastic. From the surfing we drove home.

During the week you could watch some fabulous matches, play fabulous matches and have a fabulous time. The experience is amazing for children and adults and you have lots of fun. We hope we are going next year and we hope you are too.
