~ Time to Register for the Autumn Term! (24/07/08)

‘Fraid so, unlikely though it seems during the current sun surge! The Term Dates for the Autumn term are now on the West Heath website. Please be sure to return your Registration Forms if you wish your offspring to continue in the coaching squads - including the Sennocke Centre squads! The 6.30-8.00pm Friday squad at the Sennocke Centre will start after Half-Term, as the Autumn League takes place at Sevenoaks LTC fron 5-7pm on Fridays from 19 September to 24 October. We hope to announce full details of this year’s League shortly.

~ Barcelona 0 Newquay 1! (24/07/08)

Well, unfortunately the poor exchange rate has put paid to our immediate plans to repeat last year’s trip to the Sanchez-Casals tennis academy, but there is better news regarding the proposed visit in May 2009 to the Newquay Grade 4 Tournament (Tennis, plus Mini-Green, Orange and Red). This takes place over the spring half-term, and is run by Heron Tennis, whom Hélène visited recently. Next year the Tournament dates will be Sun-Fri 24-29 May (so good for Sat-Sat lets). The facilities are excellent - 8 outdoor courts, two more under a bubble, a great clubhouse with restaurant/snackbar, good viewing including a first-floor balcony, and adjacent (pay) parking. Altogether, very parent-friendly! At least two of our coaches will be going, and Heron have offered us court practice times (8am or 6pm) during the Tournament. We have some information on accommodation (including a Holiday Park with indoor and outdoor pools!), but it is also easy to access through Google. It would be helpful to be able to tell Heron roughly how many families are planning to go, so please let Hélène know if you are!

~ The Sevenoaks Junior Open Tennis Tournament 2008... (23/06/08)

...will take place from 11-15 August at the Sevenoaks Lawn Tennis Club, Lower Rayley's Field, Plymouth Drive, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 3RP. For details and the entry form please click on the link.
